Here are the grocery stores helping seniors stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic

It's an unprecedented time and grocers are stepping up with incredible offers to help the people most vulnerable to the coronavirus.

CALIFORNIA, USA — Despite scary times, communities and businesses have been coming together to help the people most vulnerable to the coronavirus.

Grocery stores, who have been slammed with panic buying waves that cleaned out their shelves, have joined the effort.

Save Mart, Food Maxx, Walmart, Target, Smart & Final and Nugget Market are among the stores giving the most vulnerable people a better chance to get the supplies and food they need.

Save Mart

Save Mart will be setting aside every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. for higher risk populations to shop.

This includes seniors and other vulnerable populations, like pregnant women and people with compromised immune systems.

Walmart

Walmart store hours will adjust to 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with stores opening than 7 a.m. continuing at their regular hours.

By March 24, Walmart will be hosting an hour long senior shopping event every Tuesday for customers who are 60 and older. The shopping event starts one hour before stores open.

Target stores will open at their regular times, but they will now reserve the first hour of shopping each Wednesday for vulnerable guests, which include seniors and those with underlying health concerns.

Nugget Market

Nugget Market will dedicate store opening to 8 a.m. as designated shopping hours for people 65 and older and guests who are at-risk due to health concerns.
