A 29-year-old inmate at the Sacramento County Main Jail died Wednesday morning.
Just before 7 a.m. a Sacramento Sheriff's Deputy learned that a male inmate was having a medical issue while inside a holding area.
The man was complaining of abdominal pain and taken to a local aea hospital just before 7:30 a.m.
The inmate died at the hospital hours later.
The man was in the jail on charges of possession of narcotic paraphernalia and a parole violation.
The Sacramento Coroner's Office will investigate the cause of death.
