The Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics players wore Stephon Clark warm-up shirts prior to their game at the Golden 1 Center Sunday afternoon.
The black shirts had "Accountability. We Are One." on the front and "#StephonClark" on the back. The decision by the players was made as a sign of unity following the fatal shooting of the 22-year-old by two Sacramento police officers on March 18.
The death of Clark, who was unarmed and holding a cell phone when he was shot 20 times in his grandmother's backyard, has drawn immense national attention, in addition to a series of protests locally. At the time, officers were responding to reports of a man breaking car windows in south Sacramento.
The Kings organization also released a video featuring both Sacramento and Boston players to further stress their stance on the Clark shooting.
