SACRAMENTO, California — Officials will be doing a recovery operation after a man fell off a boat and into the Sacramento River Sunday evening.
The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the 3500 block of Garden Highway after a man fell off the front of a moving boat around 6 p.m. A fire department spokesperson said the man was in his 50s and was on the boat with family.
Fire crews searched but couldn't find him.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office has taken over the incident and are on the water for a recovery operation. While deputies are investigating what happened, they don't suspect any foul play.
