A woman was killed Sunday when her car hit a tree and caught fire in West Sacramento, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At approximately 4:45 p.m., CHP Woodland and the Davis Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle drifting for unknown reasons to the right-hand shoulder on I-80 and hitting a tree.
After crashing into the tree, CHP said the car burst into flames. The driver, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.
CHP said they are investigating the fatal crash as a solo vehicle accident.
