SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Two women are accused of stealing a dinghy and taking it for a joyride on Lake Tahoe.
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s office, the dinghy's owner spotted 20-year-old Madison Riddle and 19-year-old Genevieve Dyer taking off in the boat as he was riding by on his bicycle.
According to the sheriff’s office, the women refused to paddle back in until deputies showed up. Deputies say, by then, the women were “too drunk” to row back on their own.
They were towed in by an Obexer’s Harbor worker and then arrested, the sheriff’s office said.
Riddle and Dyer were each booked into the Auburn Jail. Both posted bail and have been released.
