CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. — A man died after being hit by a car in Citrus Heights Wednesday evening.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision was reported just before 8 p.m. along Auburn Boulevard, south of Manzanita Avenue.
Police said the man was hit after he ran across the roadway, directly in front of the car.
According to CHP, the driver wasn't able to react and avoid hitting the man. The collision pushed the pedestrian onto the roadway, causing blunt force trauma to his head and body.
The man who died hasn't been identified, but he was described as being in his 60s.
