EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. — A deadly crash prompted road closures on Highway 50 near the South Lake Tahoe area Thursday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was killed in a crash on the freeway near Johnson Pass Road after 5:30 p.m.
Officials said a total of five people were involved in the crash. The CHP weren't sure how many vehicles were involved.
Roads reopened following several hours of closures.
