Manteca police activity with barricaded person comes to peaceful resolution | Update

Manteca police have reopened the area to traffic.

MANTECA, Calif. — Update: 11:12 p.m.

Manteca police say the Parkwood Drive incident was resolved peacefully, however, officials will still be in the area for the investigation. 

The suspect is in custody and the area has been reopened to traffic.

Manteca police are asking people to avoid the area after a person barricaded himself in a garage on Parkwood Drive.

Police are talking with the person, who they say barricaded himself in a home located on the 400 block of Parkwood Drive.

Access to the area and around it has been blocked off.

Police are asking people to stay in their homes with the door locked. 

Anyone in the area who wants to leave their homes are asked to contact the non-emergency line of the police department at 209-456-8101 before doing so.
