SACRAMENTO, California — The body of a man who fell off a boat and into the Sacramento River Sunday evening was found around 3 p.m.
The man was identified as 54-year-old Darren Miller, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies have been working to find the man's body since Sunday evening. The body was pulled to shore and recovered around 3:30 p.m., officials said.
The Sacramento Fire Department initially responded to the 3500 block of Garden Highway after a man fell off the front of a moving boat around 6 p.m. A fire department spokesperson said the man was in his 50s and was on the boat with family.
Fire crews searched but couldn't find him.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office is investigating what happened and doesn't suspect any foul play. It is unclear how Miller fell off the boat.
