Fourth of July at Cal Expo | Need to know

Cal Expo's free Independence Day show will include music performances and fireworks.

SACRAMENTO, California — This year's July Fourth celebration at Cal Expo aims to light up the sky for Independence Day on Thursday.

In addition to the fireworks show, the celebration will include performances by World of Dance U-Jam, National Lines and Rachel Steele.

World of U-Dance is a dance cardio workout program that invites the audience to get up and show off their moves. National Lines is an alternative rock and roll band that will keep the party going as well as play some slower ballads. Rachel Steele is a country singer. She'll be performing with her band, Road 88.

Where: The fireworks can be viewed from the Miller Lite Racetrack Grandstand within Cal Expo (1600 Exposition Blvd., Sacramento).

When: Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m.

Cost: The fireworks show is free for general admission, but people can reserve seats in the grandstand by paying $10 through Cal Expo Events.

Parking: Parking for the event costs $15 and it is cash only.
