iHealth's newest facility opens in Sacramento

iHealth's Unified Care program uses smart medical devices to remotely monitor patients' vitals and blood sugar by a personalized care team to provide at-home support

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — With the advent of new technology and smart medical devices, doctors say the future of medicine will be more proactive rather than reactive to patients' medical conditions. And Sacramento is at the forefront of that new medical technology.

Thursday night was the grand opening celebration of a new facility addressing the growing needs of Sacramento's aging population and rising chronic conditions.

Doctors said a big part of improving health is patient engagement and communication, and that can be done with interactive technology.

For example, iHealth's Unified Care program uses smart medical devices to remotely monitor patients' vitals and blood sugar by a personalized care team to provide at-home support and help better manage diabetes and hypertension.

Local medical experts say it's about delivering optimal care all the time so people can live their best lives.

“We want to help patients improve their health data and bridge the gap between doctors and patients," said Susan Wu, vice president and head of operations at iHealth Labs.

The Unified Care program has been growing in the past few years in Sacramento and expanded by opening a new office in Sacramento in 2023.

Just last month, they shifted into a larger 7,000 square foot office also in Sacramento that can accommodate two and half times more staff.

By recognizing people at risk of having a medical emergency before it happens, doctors say your health care team makes an intervention before your condition gets worse.

Doctors said you will start to see these types of programs being rolled out of major healthcare institutions in the near future.

The new facility is located at 8950 Cal Center Dr. Building 1 Ste 360 in Sacramento.
