SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) is offering a free 24-day summer school program for students from transitional kindergarten to 8th grade starting June 24.
The deadline for parents to sign up and apply their student is May 6.
The summer school program is filled with fun academic and enrichment activities, including:
- Instruction from credentialed teachers including exciting science topics
- Field trips and special events
- Free breakfast and lunch served daily
SCUSD students from any school are eligible to apply for the 'Summer Matters' program.
Schools that students from transitional kindergarten through 8th grade may apply to include; Abe Lincoln, Caleb Greenwood, Camellia, Caroline Wenzel, David Lubin, Earl Warren, Elder Creek, Ethel I. Baker, Ethel Phillips, Fr. Keith B. Kenny, Golden Empire, H.W. Harkness, Hubert Bancroft, Isador Cohen, John Cabrillo, John D. Sloat, Leataata Floyd, Mark Twain, Martin Luther King, Jr. , New Joseph Bonnheim, Pacific, Rosa Parks K-8, Susan B. Anthony, Suy:u, Tahoe & Washington.
Middle schoolers may apply to schools including; Albert Einstein, California, Fern Bacon, Sam Brannan & Will C. Wood.
The program will last from June 24 to July 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with July 4 off. Middle schoolers will be off at noon.
Parents and guardians will be notified between June 3-14 if space is available for their student.
