SACRAMENTO, Calif. — If you can't wait for Halloween, Lake Crest Village has you covered with its 4th annual Sugar Krush Trick or Treat Party on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Nugget Markets is giving out free pumpkins to attendees. In previous years, Nugget Markets gave away roughly 200 pumpkins.
What will be there
- Trick or treating
- A professional pumpkin carver
- Balloon art
Where is it
The Sugar Krush Trick or Treat Party is held at Lake Crest Village shopping center, Florin Road and Greenhaven Drive, Sacramento.
When is it
The event is scheduled to take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.

And remember, before you dig into that bag of treats, check for any tricks. The American Academy of Pediatrics [AAP] says although tampering is rare, "a responsible adult should closely examine all treats and throw away any spoiled, unwrapped or suspicious items."
But we shouldn't just examine candy for tampering. If your child has any food allergies, make sure to dispose of any candy that could cause a "life-threatening reaction."
Most popular Halloween candies, according to AAP, contain common allergens: tree nuts, milk, egg, soy or wheat. If everything looks good, then dig it, but don't eat everything all at once.
Rationing your Halloween candy will not only prevent upset stomachs, but will you to enjoy your Halloween candy for days, and even weeks, later.
