SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Multiple high schools throughout Northern California will look to capture a California state championship this weekend.
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Football Championship Bowl Games will take place Friday and Saturday across three different venues in Southern California.
A total of 15 games will be played across three host venues: Fullerton Union High School District Stadium (FUHSDS), Long Beach Community College (LBCC) and Saddleback College in the Orange County city of Mission Viejo.
Grant, Twelve Bridges, Vanden, Summerville and Sonora are among the teams vying for a coveted state title.
The Grant Pacers are representing Sacramento and are playing in a CIF Final for the third year in a row.
Vanden, from Fairfield, is one of nine schools competing this weekend with a CIF State Bowl win.
Twelve Bridges, from Lincoln, and Summerville and Sonora, from Tuolumne County, are making their CIF State Championship Bowl debut, according to the CIF.

Division 3-A
- Vanden (12-2) vs. Rio Hondo Prep (13-1)
- Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at LBCC
Division 4-A
- Sonora (12-2) vs. St. Pius X — St. Matthias (6-9)
- Saturday, Dec. 14, 3 p.m. at LBCC
Division 6-A
- Summerville (13-1) vs. Monte Vista — Spring Valley (9-5)
