ABC10 honored with 14 Emmy Awards

“To The Point with Alex Bell” received the award for best newscast. It was also honored for its report on the 1989 Cleveland Elementary School shooting in Stockton.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — ABC10 has been recognized with 14 Northern California Area Emmy® awards from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). The Northern California region stretches from Visalia to the Oregon border and includes Hawaii and Reno, Nevada.

“Over the last few years, ABC10 has been recognized with an astounding number of prestigious national and regional industry awards for excellence in reporting, daily news coverage, and our commitment to multi-part investigative series,” said Risa Omega, President & General Manager of ABC10. “These latest Emmy awards and nominations from NATAS are a direct reflection of the hard work, dedication, and talent of our entire ABC10 news team that is supported by the entire station staff.”

ABC10’s award-winning news coverage is led by Director of Content Monika Diaz, with outstanding efforts by a diverse and talented newsroom staff filled with broadcast and digital producers, investigative reporters, multi-skilled storytellers, photojournalists, editors, writers, creatives, and many others who work diligently to serve communities in the greater Sacramento region. 

“These wins and all of the nominations are a great example of our commitment to tell the stories that impact our communities,” said Monika Diaz, ABC10 Director of Content. “We are making a difference, and I am incredibly proud of the talented team that works so hard to make it happen each and every day.”

A total of 1,106 entries were received for news stories that aired in 2023, and ABC10 was honored with 14 Emmy awards in categories that include the following:
