SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Gurajpal Sangha is a Multi-Skilled Journalist for ABC10, specializing in general assignment reporting.
He joined the ABC10 team in June 2023, but he is not a stranger to the region. He has worked in the Sacramento news market since Nov. 2020, covering some of California’s largest wildfires, political stories impacting the state to the local level and the coronavirus pandemic.
Gurajpal was born in India and at the age of eight, he and his family relocated to Woodland, where they still live.
He comes to ABC10 from recent stops at FOX40 in Sacramento and KOLO in Reno, Nevada. He spent nearly four years in northern Nevada covering a wide array of stories every week. He shot, wrote and edited his own stories for the evening and nightly newscasts.
Before making the jump to the Biggest Little City, Gurajpal began his journalism career at KUMV-TV (NBC North Dakota News) in Williston, North Dakota. During his year and a half stint, he learned about the oil industry and the impact Hydraulic Fracturing had on the residents of Western North Dakota and Eastern Montana.
Gurajpal graduated from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) in 2014. During his time at CSUF, he gained hands-on experiences with Titan Sports Recap, OC News, Daily Titan, Tusk Magazine, Titan Radio and he traveled to Guatemala as part of a specialized reporting class to cover the living conditions, health care system and the cultural trends of the country.
When Gurajpal is not working, he likes to spend time with his family, play basketball and cheer on the San Francisco 49ers, Giants, and the Los Angeles Lakers/Sacramento Kings (He knows he is weird for that).
