The California native has a master’s degree from New York University in Broadcast News & Documentary, and a bachelor's degree in Communication from California State University San Marcos.

Lora has earned two Emmy nominations for her anchoring and writing skills and has twice received a “Best Anchor” award from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

Lora is a world traveler and musician. Born an American abroad, Lora’s curiosity and desire to learn new things have led her to many countries on four continents.

Before moving to Sacramento, Lora anchored weekday morning and noon newscasts for WWMT in West Michigan and mornings in WILX in Lansing. One of her stories in Lansing on library overdue fees was featured on the Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

Her first taste of broadcast started when she was 12 years old during her 7th grade video production class, where students televised morning announcements and produced commercials and music videos.

Lora started her professional journalism career as a teenager in print newspapers and radio in Southern California.

Lora made her live-television debut at San Diego 6 News, where she was also a video editor and  newswriter. She has previously worked as a reporter, anchor and producer at the ABC affiliate in Medford, Oregon.  Her work in South Korea appeared in the Korea Times.

She has also been a production assistant at Fox News Channel's documentary unit in New York City.

Beyond the anchor desk, Lora has been a board member of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and continues to be a member of its Asian Art Advisory Council. She also emcees various events for different causes, including educational and community programs with UC Davis and San Joaquin Delta College.
