SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Roxanne Elias joined the ABC10 news team as a multi-skilled journalist in July 2022.
She was born in Oakland, but raised in a small town in Tennessee. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in broadcast journalism.
Her career started at The CW in San Diego where she was an intern and later worked as a part-time writer and producer. She had the opportunity to dip her toes in everything from behind the camera to interviewing mothers of homicide victims. She also helped cover news stories along the U.S.-Mexico border with reporters assigned in Tijuana.
She landed her first on-air job as a reporter for the ABC affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota. There she covered crime, local politics and breaking news.
She later moved to Toledo, Ohio, where she continued to work as a reporter helping share the stories of the growing Latino community.
Roxanne's parents are Mexican immigrants and it’s been a dream of hers to be a reporter and share the stories of Latinos and others who otherwise would not have a voice.
She is excited to be a part of the ABC10 news team and have the opportunity to work with some of the best storytellers in Northern California.
