SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The California State Fair announced another performer for its concert series Wednesday.
War, a soul and funk band will perform at Cal Expo on Wednesday, July 17 at 8 p.m. Formed in Long Beach in 1962, the band is known for hits like “Spill the Wine” and their album "The World is a Ghetto."
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome WAR to the Golden 1 Stage this year,” Tom Martinez, CEO of California State Fair and Cal Expo said in a statement. “Their profound impact on the music industry and ability to bring people together through their powerful blend of music makes them the perfect addition to our summer concert series. This is more than just a concert; it's a celebration of 50 years of phenomenal music history."
While these concerts are free with general admission to the fair, space is first come, first served. Reserved seats are also available for purchase starting at $25.
