Taylor Swift's surprise songs from Sydney night 1 of Eras Tour

At her third show in Melbourne, Swift said she would be removing the previous surprise song rule preventing her from repeating songs.

AUSTRALIA, — Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour is in Australia with four shows in Sydney after she performed three shows in Melbourne last weekend.

In Sydney, Swift is performing Friday, Feb. 23; Saturday, Feb. 24; Sunday, Feb. 25; and Monday, Feb. 26 at Accor Stadium with Sabrina Carpenter as a special guest. Carpenter didn't perform her act during the first night in Sydney due to weather delays, but she joined Swift during the surprise song portion.

Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce attended the show in Sydney and Swift changed a lyric in "Karma" to "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs" instead of "Karma is the guy on the screen," which she had done at a previous show he attended on the tour.

On this tour, Swift is performing two (or more) surprise songs at each tour date, and fans are tracking which songs are performed at each show.

During her U.S. dates, Swift said she wouldn't be repeating songs unless she messed up. She has performed repeats of several songs, partially due to the filming of her concert film, and said the list of songs she could pull from would reset in 2024.

But during her third show in Melbourne, Swift said she would be removing the surprise song rule that prevents her from repeating songs.

"I've been thinking like I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward. I don't want to limit anything and I don't want to just say like 'oh I played this song before I can't play it again.' So from now on I'm just going to like — I don't want to take any paint colors out of the paint box of colors. I don't want to take any tools out of the toolbox. What's the metaphor I'm looking for? I want to be able to play songs more than once if I feel like it and I want to be able to make changes to songs," Swift said.
