Stanislaus Co. shelter calls for fosters, adoptions after 38 chihuahuas taken in

The shelter is already overcrowded, housing more than 300 dogs.

STANISLAUS COUNTY, Calif. — Shelter officials are calling for help from fosters and potential adopters after several chihuahuas arrived at Stanislaus County Animal Services.

According to the shelter, 38 chihuahua mixes arrived to the shelter in a single day. However, with the shelter already housing more than 300 dogs, they issued a call for help from fosters and potential adopters.

It's not clear why all the chihuahua's arrived to the shelter at the same time.

They said all their dogs and cats, 1 year and older, are $7.77 to adopt. Stanislaus County Animal Services is located at 3647 Cornucopia Way.
