HAMBURG, N.Y. — The Future Dance Center in Hamburg hosted 'Thriller in the Burg' on Saturday night.
The community gathered at the Hamburg Community Playground for performances, contests, and food trucks.
Lindsey McGahey, the event's host, talked with 2 On Your Side about the event's background which has kicked off Halloween week in the village for 19 years.
"This is our friend Michael Perry's favorite time of the season, and he's not with us anymore and this is dedicated all to him," said McGahey.
The event benefited Saint Jude Children’s Hospital and the SPCA Serving Erie County.
"It's a great time to come out, enjoy the season, Halloween, and Michael Jackson," McGahey added.
Every year the biggest part of the night is when 70 dancers take center stage with a dance performance to Michael Jackson's Thriller.
"They just get better and better every year that we've seen them."
