Texas Roadhouse opens first publicly-accessible location in western Washington

Texas Roadhouse has locations all across the country but has not had much of a presence in the Seattle area.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Popular national chain restaurant Texas Roadhouse has not had much of a presence in western Washington, until now.

Texas Roadhouse opened a restaurant on Meridian Street in Bellingham on Oct. 7, making it the first publicly-accessible location in western Washington.

There has been a Texas Roadhouse not far from Seattle for years, but it is located inside Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The company's website says the restaurant is only available to those who have base access.

"The community has been amazing and we are very glad to be open," a Texas Roadhouse spokesperson told KING 5 about the opening of the Bellingham location.

People lined up hours before the Bellingham Texas Roadhouse opened, according to the Bellingham Hearld.

There are other locations of the restaurant chain further east in Washington state, with Texas Roadhouses in Union Gap, Kennewick and Spokane.

While there is still no presence in the Seattle-Tacoma-Everett area, fans of the chain do now have a location they can flock to in western Washington.

This opening comes just a few weeks after the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport announced it would be building a Chili's location inside the C Concourse when that reopens as part of its larger "Upgrade SEA" project.
