SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Each year thousands of people drive by Sacramento's Fab 40s neighborhood to check out the holiday lights.
But the displays aren't just on the outside. There's a way to check out what's being decorated inside, too.
This weekend, the Sacred Heart Holiday Home Tour takes people inside six homes to see amazing Christmas decorations.
I caught up with one family on the ABC10 Morning News. I asked Carolyn Puiccioin why she'd open up her home.
“The reason I was open to it is because it wasn’t going to be a stranger coming in to decorate our house. It was going to be Mishe (Victoria) who we worked with for quite some time and love," said Puiccioin. "She knows our family. When she was in, I was in.”
Mishe, the designer, told me she decorated around Carolyn's memories.
"I wanted this to feel really like Christmas, smell like Christmas and bring all those good memories from the past,” Mishe said.
HERE ARE 3 THINGS TO KNOW:
- Tickets are needed. You can't just walk up. Get them here.
- It's been happening since 1973. This is the 50th year!
- It's a fundraiser for Sacred Heart Parish School. "We want to make a Catholic education affordable for any family that wants to attend Sacred Heart," said Sacred Heart Principal Mercedes Hollcraft. "This is why we do it, this is why our parents work so hard. This is why we choose to host.”
