SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Now this headline might not shock some of you, but here goes, millennials are killing kitchens. So is it true? That’s what some are thinking. That’s because they're using apps.
Millennials are more likely than other generations to use food delivery apps like Uber Eats and Postmates for their meals, according to a video published by the Financial Times.
A study done by UBS bank predicts that by 2030, food delivery sales will grow by over 20 percent. So sounds like those ovens and stovetops won’t be used as much, right?
Numbers aside, to say that millennials are killing kitchens is dramatic.
For one, millennials also like organic and grocery shopping puts the shopper in control of that. Yes, millennials are using those apps for food delivery, but there are also grocery buying apps and services they’re using as well. So that would still require the use of their kitchens.
Second, the use of meal kit services like Hello Fresh and Blue Apron is going up, especially among younger people, and "meal prep" is also becoming more and more popular.
So are millennials killing kitchens? Nope, they’re still cooking things up.

ONE MORE FROM ABC10: Millennials apparently don't need living rooms
Stop us if you've heard this one before: "Millennials are killing _____." No, it's not the doorbell or fabric softener or the concept of a relationship. Millenials are apparently killing the idea of the living room. Maybe that's because apartments are getting smaller. Maybe it's because the smaller the apartment, the cheaper the rent. Who knows.
