SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Despite California Governor Gavin Newsom's plan for a staged reopening, casinos across the state have opted to reopen ahead of what Newsom and health officials suggest.
In an effort to reduce the spread of coronavirus, casinos are changing the way they operate by allowing for social distancing and promoting the usage of face coverings.
For casinos like Cache Creek Casino and Resort, there could be thermal scans upon entry and several services like valet and buffets that are no longer available to visitors. The California Department of Health also put out guidelines for casinos that reopen.
Cases across California and the Sacramento region have been on the rise since Memorial Day as businesses began to reopen and people relax their social distancing habits. However, businesses like casinos continue to reopen.
