Hancock Fabrics is closing their remaining stores, following a court decision this week. The company filed for Chapter 11 restructuring in February.
The remaining roughly 200 stores will liquidate their inventory and close before summer. According to the company's website, they have started advertising "Going out of business" sales.
There are two Hancock locations in the Sacramento area, one on El Camino Avenue and one on Hazel Avenue. Other stores in California include locations in the Bay Area, Fresno, Bakersfield and other cities in Southern California.
At least some employees were informed about the decision Thursday and started telling customers.
