SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Last week, the Dollars and Sense team introduced you to Cathy Hickman from Stockton who, like millions of Americans, is struggling to pay her bills while her unemployment benefits dwindle.
We asked Michelle Clanton, a Business Development Manager from Viking Staffing, to review her resume.
"Cathy wants to utilize her skills of management, restaurant experience, sales, and leadership. She is infectious and you hope she returns to the workforce soon," Clanton said.
If you can relate to Cathy's situation - a hard worker who just needs a break - Clanton says there may be options as soon as tomorrow.
"There is truth to the fact that you may register and be ready to go today. We may call you this evening and have a job for you tomorrow," Clanton explained.
If you need cash fast or are just looking to add new skills to your toolbox, temp work might be the missing piece to your job search, according to Clanton. "If someone wants to work and they are flexible and willing to take a shift until we can find something else, or has always wanted to work in a new field, temporary work can help transition."
