Patelco: Online banking to return Monday, 2 weeks after ransomware attack

Patelco says members will be able to access online banking and the mobile banking app by Monday — something that’s been down since June 28.

CALIFORNIA, USA — More than two weeks after a ransomware attack left Patelco Credit Union members unable to access many services, the credit union now says things will be back to normal very soon

Patelco says by Monday, members will be able to access online banking and the Patelco mobile banking app, something that’s been down since June 28.

“We have restored most functionality and the services most used by our members,” said CEO Erin Mendez in a statement. “We recognize that there is still progress to be made and while this may not look perfect, we are grateful to be able to support you with your banking needs again.”

They warn members that longer wait times should be expected both at branch locations and call centers.

Mobile deposit will be among the services available on Monday.

All members will get a printed end of the month statement for June and July. The June statement will be delivered through the mail at the end of July and include all transactions from June 1 through July 15. The July statement for the 16-31 will be delivered in early August.

Most Patelco fees, account fees, overdraft fees, credit card, loan late fees, will automatically be waived for July and August due to the outage.

Patelco is still offering to cover any late fees incurred by the outage. Anyone with questions about delayed transactions, late fees or late payments is encouraged to call their new hotline at 1-800-358-8228 (extension 3030) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
