RUMSEY, Calif. — 9:35 p.m. update:
Cal Fire reports the fire is now at 1,700 acres. No structures have been damaged. Conditions are hot and dry with winds out of the northeast.

Several structures were threatened Saturday as the "Sand Fire" burned in Yolo County. The 600-acre vegetation fire, which broke out Saturday afternoon, began near Highway 16 and County Road 41 in the Rumsey area, Caltrans said.
The evacuations are pictured below in a map provided by Yolo County. Areas shaded red are mandatory evacuation zones and areas shaded yellow are under advisory. County Road 41 is under mandatory evacuation and an evacuation center is in place. To see if your area is affected, click here.
Sacramento Fire is among the agencies responding to the fire. At this point the cause of the fire is unknown. Check the Cal Fire website for more information about fires currently burning.
