Award winning journalist Amy Carabba returns to Sacramento to join ABC10 News as morning anchor. Her friendly and lively presentation style has been honed over her 10 years in broadcasting. Originally from an island in Washington state, Amy moved to California to begin her news career as a reporter and anchor on a San Francisco cable station. She earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism at San Francisco State University and then moved to "The Cowboy State" where she worked as a new/weather anchor and reporter for KCWY in Casper, Wyoming. There, Amy was recognized by the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters as KCWY's "Best Female News Anchor."
Most recently, Amy worked at KSWB Fox 5 in San Diego as a weather anchor. As an entertainment reporter in Las Vegas, she gained the nickname Extreme and became the first Las Vegas reporter to jump off the Stratosphere. She also rappeled off the Rio and jumped into freezing water to raise awareness for the Special Olympics. Sacramento is a familiar place for Amy where she spent 3 years working in TV morning news.
She is a multi-talented journalist who can wear many hats. Amy also has experience in forecasting the weather.
Amy is very happy to be back in Northern California with friends, family, and her English bulldog Squishy.
You can catch her weekday mornings from 4:30-7 a.m. and 9-10 a.m. on ABC10 Mornings.
