SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Have you been thinking about adopting a new furry friend? Bradshaw Animal Shelter is hoping to help.
The shelter has waived adoption fees on some pets until Sunday, July 21. The shelter says they are waiving the fees due to "extreme overcrowding."
The animal shelter says they are housing 200 dogs in 132 kennels and more than 300 cats/kittens. With a shortage of space, some of the shelter's large dogs are sharing kennels.
The shelter described their overcrowding situation at "critical."
If you cannot adopt, but still want to help, the shelter is also looking for more foster homes. If you are interested in fostering, contact Violet at pinav@saccounty.net.
Instead of lighting off fireworks or grilling outside, many people spent their 4th of July evening comforting the shelter dogs at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter for a program that shelter is calling a huge success.
