It’s official (kind of).
Chick-fil-A waffle fries are the single greatest fast food item in America. According to The Ringer, that is.
The website, which is the brainchild of ex-ESPN personality Bill Simmons, and takes on topics from sports, entertainment, tech, and more, composed “The Top 50 Fast Food Items in America” as part of it’s “Last Meal on Earth: The End of Eating” package.
The unique fries, which made their debut in 1985, scored a bit of an upset with their No. 1 overall ranking. In-N-Out’s Double-Double came in second, while McDonald’s fries, Popeye’s Chicken, and Chick-fil-A’s original sandwich rounded out the top five.
It should be noted, that according to The Ringer, the Chick-fil-A sandwich received the most first-place votes, but was unable to secure the win. Another fast food staple, Wendy’s Frosty, garnered the most top-10 votes but landed in the eighth spot.

In a bit of news that startled the Carolinas, Bojangles’ didn’t have a single item on the list. The Charlotte-based chicken chain didn’t take the news well.

Fans of quick-service tacos are sure to enjoy the rankings, as well. Taco Bell, Chipotle, and Jack in the box were represented with several varieties of tacos and quesadillas.
