RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — Heartstoppers Haunted House is celebrating 17 years with its 2024 scare season. In order to celebrate its anniversary, ABC10's Mark S. Allen went to the Mine Shaft in Rancho Cordova to get the spookiest details available.

- There are six separate areas at Heartstoppers: four haunts and two Scream Zones.
"We have four different haunts that guests can experience. We have the Ward..." explained Heartstoppers employee Candace. "We have one downstairs that is blacked out and we have two outside: our Blightwoods and our Deadlands."
The four haunts are Misery Mine, The Ward: Project Crossbreed, Blightwoods and Deadlands. - Along with new haunts, Heartstoppers has new stage shows and performers. This year's scare season will feature performances from professional fire dancers and metal rock musician Esther Black.
There will also be a 45-minute-long "Circus Variety & Freak Show" by Cirque Vau de Villain, a fictional troop derived from the Travel Circus at the Parkour and Performing Arts Center in Lincoln, and an hourly stunt-based stage show explaining the lore of each haunt. - Tickets are online only and start at $35 individually or $28 each for large groups.
