Break out the champagne: Mario's Early Toast coming to El Dorado Hills

Mario's Early Toast is a Placer County-based restaurant chain known for 25 different mimosas and a tempting catchphrase: 'It's never too early for a good time.'

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. — Mario's Early Toast, a local chain of breakfast restaurants in Placer County, is opening its newest location in El Dorado Hills.

ABC10's Mark S. Allen dropped by the new eatery to celebrate "with a toast" alongside owner Mario Astorga.

HERE ARE 3 THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. Mario's Early Toast features at least 25 different types of mimosas, with some locations featuring over 30!

According to the restaurant's website, customers can also order the Bacon Bloody Mary, made with "house made Bloody Mary mix and garnished with celery, bacon, pepperoncini, green olives and lime."

  2. Aside from breakfast and drink options, Mario's Early Toast also caters to the fit crowd.

"That's what makes us unique, our pro-fit menu for the all the body lifters, all the people staying healthy," said Astorga. "Extra virgin olive oil in all of our food. It's awesome."

  3. There is actually a reason outside of health trends for the pro-fit menu. Astorga is a former athlete who played for the Canada College Men's Soccer team. An injury eventually led to Astorga leaving soccer and starting his restaurant chain.

"I was really mad at one point because I got injured and all I knew how to do was play soccer," explained Astorga. "I was in Sacramento. I got injured during a charity game."

"When I got injured, I became really upset and my mom said to me 'Hey, you don't know what God has for you in your future, so be careful what you say.' Next thing I know, I start opening restaurants," he continued. "At first it was really difficult, but all of a sudden all of the right people surrounded me... and here I am five restaurants later. It's kind of cool."
