'Boot Scootin' Boogie': Stoney's Rockin' Rodeo to hold CMA Awards watch party

The 58th Annual Country Music Association Awards will air live from Nashville on ABC10.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — The 58th Annual Country Music Association Awards (also known as the CMA Awards) will air live from Nashville on ABC10 Wednesday at 8 p.m.

In order to celebrate "country music's biggest night," ABC10's Mark S. Allen went to Stoney's Rockin' Rodeo, where owner Kevin Lutz, country musician Charles Serna and North Forty vocalist Kerina Kinch are throwing a rockin party of their own.

HERE ARE 3 THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. Former professional football quarterback Peyton Manning is a CMA Awards host.

While it comes as no shock country music stars Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson are hosting the CMAs, Manning may be a bit of a surprise for some viewers. According to Serna, Manning fits like a glove.

"He's a huge fan and I guess a good friend of Brad Paisley, so I honestly can't see anybody better than Peyton Manning hosting the CMAs."

  2. While there are many talented musicians nominated for a variety of awards, the crew at Stoney's Rockin' Rodeo are hoping for a certain winner: Cody Johnson.

"I hope that he takes home a CMA Award," said Kinch when asked who she favored for the night. "That would be awesome since I opened for him right here at Stoney's."

Johnson is nominated for five awards, including Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year.

  3. Stoney's Rockin' Rodeo isn't just throwing a watch party... they're making ribs.

According to Lutz, there will be specials on food and many places around the bar and restaurant to watch the show or dance.

"$10 rib special tonight. We are going to have [the CMAs] on all our TVs," he said. "Of course, there will be dancing back here on this huge dancefloor, but in the front part, we'll have it on TV and we'll have it on a 12 foot screen."
