SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Studio T Arts & Entertainment is a fine arts education center and nonprofit dedicated to those who need a space for art. ABC10's Mark S. Allen visited the studio and received a very special surprise.
HERE ARE 3 THINGS TO KNOW:
- Studio T Arts & Entertainment is owned by Tamaira "Miss Tee" Sandifer, one of Forbes' "For(bes) the Culture" Champions. Sandifer has a strong interest in dance, even founding California's Day of Dance and originally creating Studio T as a dance studio. She also has a passion for education, having created distance learning platforms Pass To Class and Side Hustle Academy.
- Studio T focuses on various forms of art, with separate sections of the building dedicated to dance, media production, music and culinary works. There are also sections of Studio T dedicated to skills such as financial management, education and entrepreneurship.
"We teach people how to do this so they can make money doing it," said Sandifer while talking with Mark about the goal of Studio T. "Again, this is a lot of creative workforce development." - Studio T features a film screening room named after Mark! As a surprise on-air, Sandifer announced the introduction of the Mark S. Allen Movie Room.
"We built this special for my friend Mark because of his intense contribution to media and film," explained Sandifer.
"When I was a little kid, 12-years-old, I sat in a movie theater blown away that people were sharing this common experience and I wanted to do something in that industry ever since," said Mark. "My goodness. I'll earn this, I promise you."
