STOCKTON, Calif — As of Dec. 23, there have been 39 homicides in Stockton throughout 2019. That includes the cases covered by San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, Stockton Police Department and California Highway Patrol - Stockton.
The Stockton Police Department has investigated 34 of those homicides. San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office has investigated four homicides in Stockton, and CHP has investigated one non-vehicular homicide in Stockton.
Between these agencies in Stockton, law enforcement investigated 39 homicide cases in 2018.
In 2018, Stockton Police investigated 33 homicides. San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office handled six homicide cases that occurred in Stockton. CHP hasn't investigated a non-vehicular homicide in the ten years prior, according to the California Department of Justice.
The rate of homicides in 2019 was a cause of concern of law enforcement and the people living in Stockton.
Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones told ABC10 that the department has reached out for assistance from partnering agencies such as the California Highway Patrol and the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
"We need more tips. We know there are individuals in the community out there that know a lot about these cases or at least something," Jones said.

February
- Traves Her, 19, shot and killed Feb. 2 near the intersection of Sandalwood Drive and Ledgewood Avenue.
- Advan Vang, 15, and Nicholas Sihalath, 14, were shot and killed Feb. 24 near the intersection of Montauban Avenue and Gillimer Drive. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
March
- Frank Baker Jr., 67, assaulted Jan. 24 near the intersection of Washington Street and South San Joaquin Street. The assault resulted in his death on March 6. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
- David Connary, 19, Tiffany Connary, 18, and Remillio Castillo,18, were all shot and killed March 22 near the intersection of Finland Avenue and E Street. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
- Arnold Jimenez-Silva, 23, shot and killed March 23 near the intersection of West MLK Jr. Boulevard and North Lynn Avenue.
- Ashlie Villegas, 31, shot and killed March 24 near the intersection of Volney Street and Michael Avenue.
April
- Christopher Perkins Jr., 27, shot and killed April 10 near the intersection of Albany and Astor Drives.
- Larry Ganner, 66, assaulted and killed April 26 near the intersection of Washington Street and South E Street. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
- Alan Cazares, 23, was shot and killed April 26, near the intersection of Delhi Avenue and South Lincoln Street. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
- Mark Echeverria, 28, shot and killed April 28 near the El Dorado Street overpass that runs over East Hazelton Avenue.
May
- Ronald Celestine, 34, shot and killed May 1 near the intersection of Holiday Drive and East March Lane. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
- Benny Lott, 34 shot and killed May 4 near the intersection of Holiday Drive and East March Lane.
- Joshua Moorer, 26, was shot and killed May 18 near the intersection of East Bianchi Road and Kentfield Road.
- Andrew Molinares, 22, was shot and killed May 21, near the intersection of Occidental Ave.
- Jose Pablo Flores Martinez, 24, was shot and killed May 22 near the intersection of Sierra Nevada Street and Poplar Street.
- Susan Hickman, 59, was shot and killed May 22 near the intersection of East Cherokee Road and Virginia Street. Her husband Alan Hickman, 62, was arrested on suspicion of homicide and intentional discharge of a weapon with significant bodily injury. San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department is handling this case.
- Everett Johnson, 45, was shot and killed May 26 near the intersections of Palisades Drive and Hammer Lane. A suspect has been arrested in relation to this case.
- Abdul Brown, 16, was shot and killed May 26 near the intersection of East Oak Street and North American Street.
- Robert Renteria, 21, was shot and killed May 28 on northbound Interstate 5 north of Charter Way. The California Highway Patrol is handling this case.
June
- LC Coilton, 35, was shot and killed June 5 near the intersection of San Joaquin Street and Sonora Street.
- Norma Jara, 29, was shot and killed June 17 near the intersection of Riverton Way and Five Mile Drive. Stockton Police believe she was killed by Shamel Jasheen Brailsford, 32, who appears to have killed himself.
- Elijah Johnson, 22, was shot and killed June 26 near the intersection of Comstock Drive and Hickock Drive.
- Tony Garcia, 17, was shot and killed June 29, near the intersection of South Wilke Avenue and Church Street. This case is being handled by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.
July
- An adult male was shot and killed on July 2, near the intersection of Madison Street and Lafayette Street. His identity has not yet been released.
- Juan Miranda, 37, was shot and killed on July 2, near the intersection of Stanislaus Street and Hazelton Avenue.
- Anthony Quismondo, 42, was shot and killed July 3, near the intersection of East Waterloo Road and North Newport Avenue. San Joaquin County Sheriff's department arrested Alejandro Ruvaacalba,32, and charged him with homicide.
- Frederick Ryan, 57, was killed July 6 near the intersection of East Weber Avenue and North El Dorado Street.
- Joel Vargas, 19, was shot and killed July 20 near the intersection of Paloma Avenue and Capistrano Avenue. This case is being handled by the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.
August
- Dung Nguyen, 48, was killed Aug. 27 near the intersection of Center Street and Anderson Street.
- Sonya Coilton, 59, was killed Aug. 27 near the intersection of Flora Street and Poplar Street. Stockton Police arrested a suspect in relation to this case.
September
- Morris Johnson Jr., 32, was shot and killed Sept. 10 near the intersection of Wait Avenue and Harvey Avenue.
October
- A man was shot and killed Oct. 27 near the intersection of Nemaha Way and Pock Lane. His identity has not been released.
November
- Reshanya Williams, 20, was killed Nov. 20 near the intersection of Pershing Avenue and Navy Drive.
- Victor Delgado, 18, was killed Nov. 30 near the intersection of John Townsend Place and Maude Street.
December
- Edward "Eddie" Rosas, 17, was shot Dec. 20 on Coral Lane and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
- Darwin Derosans was shot and killed early Monday morning on Thornton Road. Police say Robert Gonzalez, the suspect in his killing, is still on the run.
