Officials say the 11-year-old girl was in a fight with the 55-year-old man. According to the sheriff's office, deputies learned that the fight happened after the driver saw the girl spray other people with a water bottle.

The driver pulled the bus over and approached the girl to take the bottle away. However, deputies say the girl didn't hand it over, and, instead, moved it around to keep it out of his reach.

Deputies say the driver grabbed the girl by the shoulders and pushed her back down to her seat.

Additional statements given to deputies say the driver was also showing erratic driving behavior.

The Amador County Unified School District is aware of the situation and the Amador County Sheriff's Office is investigating it.
