JACKSON, Calif. — An Amador County stabbing suspect was arrested Sunday after allegedly leading deputies on a chase.
According to the Amador County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch was called around 5:45 p.m. by someone who reported their godson, Brandon Townsend, acting strangely.
As deputies responded, dispatchers told them someone was stabbed in the head and Townsend left the scene.
The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital while deputies were told there was security camera footage of the stabbing. The sheriff’s office says the footage shows Townsend attacking and stabbing the victim multiple times.
Deputies say family members tracked Townsend’s location through his phone, and he was found by San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputies. A chase began and ended with Townsend being arrested and taken to the Amador County Jail.
Townsend was booked on suspicion of attempted homicide, possession of a controlled substance and a Ramey warrant from Fremont for robbery.
