Baby identified after Sacramento father arrested, accused of homicide

The baby's mother brought him to a hospital where he later died. His father was arrested and accused of homicide.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The name of a baby who died in a hospital was released Thursday after his father was arrested on suspicion of homicide.

Angel Sabatian Garrett was one month and fourteen days old, according to the Sacramento County Coroner's Office.

The Sacramento Police Department says it responded to a hospital on Stockton Boulevard around 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, after a mother brought her baby boy to an emergency room with injuries. Garrett died at the hospital.

Officers identified 22-year-old Miguel Jimenez, of Sacramento, as a suspect, and he was detained at the hospital. He was later arrested and booked on homicide-related charges, according to law enforcement.
