Man arrested after deadly Arden-Arcade stabbing

Kyrie Woods-Richardson was arrested in connection with the stabbing of two homeless men.

ARDEN-ARCADE, Calif. — A man was arrested Thursday night for a stabbing attack in Arden-Arcade that left one dead and one injured. Both the victims were unhoused at the time of the attack.

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office identified Kyrie Woods-Richardson as the suspect.

The sheriff's office says Woods-Richardson was a gang member and was recently released from prison. He was also homeless "at the time of the crime," according to Sgt. Amar Gandhi.

The victims' names haven't been released yet.

Two men, one in his 60s and the other in his 30s, were both stabbed in the face around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. According to the sheriff's office, the man in his 30s was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

The man in his 60s was also hospitalized and is recovering.
