GOLD RIVER, Calif. — A father and son were put behind bars in connection to a series of robberies at a Wells Fargo ATM in Gold River.
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said they arrested the father and son Wednesday morning after serving a search warrant at a home with the help of Sacramento Police Department. Officials said they also found evidence related to the robberies, including two guns found in the home.
Chris Robertson, the detective behind the bust, said the 20-year-old son was the primary suspect and the father was the driver. He said the son would be dropped off by his father, lie in wait during late evening or early morning hours, approach a victim with a gun and steal their money, wallets or personal items.
The robberies spanned from September to December of 2023.
Video from the bank and surrounding business helped the detective identify a suspect vehicle, which then led to the identification of the driver and primary suspect.
Robertson said the son will likely face five counts of first-degree robbery while the father will likely have a robbery charge for at least one of the incidents. The suspects were identified as Deleon Joseph and Myahl Chapman Joseph.
