Burglary suspect arrested after Beers Books break in

Police described McBride as a prolific burglar in the downtown area.

SACRAMENTO, Calif — A man was arrested in connection to a burglary at Beers Books in downtown Sacramento. And police say he could be responsible for even more.

According to Sacramento Police Department, Bobby McBride, 61, was arrested Wednesday for the Aug. 17 burglary.

Manager and part owner Andrew Naify said a man broke into the bookstore after throwing a rock at the front door, kicking the door in and opening it from within. While no one at the business was injured, the bookstore was left with thousands of dollars worth of damage to the front door.

However, while McBride was being released following his arrest, police had probable cause that he also burglarized Ace's Gyros on Aug. 21 and Hook & Ladder on Aug. 22.

Police said they'll be requesting warrants for those locations. Police described McBride as a prolific burglar in the downtown area.
