SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — A missing 16-year-old hiker was found safe after being reported missing in Plumas County Sunday evening.
The Plumas County Sheriff's Office said the teenager's mother reported her missing around 6 p.m. Sunday in the Lakes Basin area. The mother said she dropped off her daughter, Camila ‘Mila’ Schweyer, near the Elwell Lakes Lodge.
Crews searched Sunday night, but couldn't find Schweyer.
On Monday, deputies said she was found safe. They were bringing out of the area to be evaluated for injuries and exposure.
