Caught on camera: South Sacramento taco stand vandalized by angry customer

The angry customer, caught on camera Sunday evening taking swings at employees and dumping over containers of food, won't be welcome back for repeat business.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — With its modest digs, homestyle cooking, and friendly service, Maggy's Tacos in South Sacramento is the kind of place that brings customers back again and again.

But an angry customer, caught on camera Sunday evening taking swings at employees and dumping over containers of food, won't be welcome back for repeat business any time soon.

"It seems like you always have to be aware of your surroundings," said Miguel Villapando, a regular at the Florin Road & Franklin Boulevard location.

Villapando can't imagine what brought the customer back to the taco stand swinging a hammer. Nor can Maggy's employees. One employee said the customer had just minutes earlier ordered a couple of tacos, ate them, then bought two more and ate them as well.

After the incident, employees called police and the angry customer made a run for it.

The owner of the taco stand said the man looks familiar. She believes workers at another location had a similar encounter with the man two months earlier.

The owner hopes that by sharing the surveillance video, it will help police catch him.

The Sacramento Police Department took a report and is investigating. The department encourages anyone with information regarding this incident to contact them at 916-808-5471.
