Man killed in Vallejo shooting, police say

The Vallejo Police Department says this is the 16th homicide in the city of Vallejo for the year 2024.

VALLEJO, Calif. — A man is dead after a shooting in Vallejo early Saturday morning.

The Vallejo Police Department says just before 1 a.m. officers responded to the 300 block of Pennsylvania Street for reports of a shooting. Once on scene officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. First responders tried to save the man's life but he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Vallejo Police Department's Homicide Detectives responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Right now, it's unclear what led up to the shooting.

According to law enforcement, this is the 16th homicide in the city of Vallejo for the year 2024.
