SACRAMENTO, California — Wednesday Update:
The Sacramento Police Department released a statement Wednesday morning saying that they have identified a suspect but aren't releasing the person's name or identity "to protect the integrity" of their investigation.
Police said the suspect and victim knew each other and both "were experiencing homelessness."

A man was killed after a stabbing in downtown Sacramento.
The Sacramento Police Department responded to a reported stabbing along the 400 block of K Street, near 4th Street and the Downtown Commons, just after 4:45 p.m.
Arriving officers found a man with at least one stab wound, who was taken a hospital in critical condition. In an update, police said the man died from his injuries.
No arrests have been made, but police said the investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
