YUBA CITY, Calif. — Two teenagers were arrested after a drive-by shooting left someone hurt by shrapnel in Sutter County Friday night, according to the Yuba City Police Department.
Police officers were called to the 1700 block of Magnolia Drive just before midnight about a drive-by shooting. One person was hit with shrapnel, but no other injuries were reported.
Officials say they found the suspect's car on Bouge Road and began to chase. The driver, 19-year-old Israel Morales, crashed the car near Harding Road and Cherry Street. Morales, a 16-year-old and another suspect then ran from the crash, according to police.
One suspect surrendered peacefully, another was caught by a police K-9 and the third got away. A search was done in the area, but no one was found.
Morales was booked into the Sutter County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling and felony evading, according to police. The 16-year-old was booked into Tri-Counties Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted murder and shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
